The Process of Making the Blanket

meet the shep…

The wool for my project came from the Natural fibre Companty in Launceton, Cornwall. During my work exierience I was given tree huge sacks of washed and carded wool, which was not suitable for spinning. This wool was spun with Hand spindles and dyed with Indigo and Woad.

I had attended a workshop at the Cornwall Guild of Spinner, Weavers and Dyers and ran another workshop with woad during my residency at Cornwall College.

It took about 9 month of spinning, dyeing, washing, winding the wool into balls .
